Congratulations to Dr. Sarah Burke for being awarded the 2022 Killam Mentoring Award!
Dr. Burke has been awarded for providing constant opportunities to hone essential skills in areas such as critical thinking, public speaking, and grant writing. Dr. Burke tailors her mentoring approach, by adapting graduate student’s projects, and her mentoring, to each student’s evolving needs and career aspirations. As co-creator of the Quantum Electronic Science & Technology Program, she has also been pivotal in developing and supporting graduate students with workshops, scholarships, mentoring opportunities, and research experiences. Dr. Burke exemplifies the qualities of an outstanding mentor, whose focus is to nurture the intellectual, professional and personal development of graduate students.
