Understanding the fundamental reactivity in ruthenium-mediated olefin metathesis

Phillip Taylor is continuing work in the Kennepohl Group to investigate the electronic structure of ruthenium-based olefin metathesis catalysts. Using a combination of computational and spectroscopic methods, Phillip is developing an experimentally-verified description of the catalytic species and defining its relationship to the observed chemical reactivity of these species.
