Brockhouse Prize for UBC Chemistry Alumni, Dr. Michael Kovacs

 

UBC Chemistry Alumni announced winner of the NSERC Brockhouse Prize For CycloMed99

Congratulations to UBC Chemistry Alumni, Dr. Michael Kovacs from Dr. Chris Orvig Medicinal Inorganic Chemistry Group​, 2011, along with his research team for their outstanding teamwork in realizing a solution for safe and reliable isotope production for hospitals in Canada, the interdisciplinary research team CycloMed99.  On February 17, 2015, the Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, presented the NSERC Brockhouse Canada Prize for Interdisciplinary Research in Science and Engineering to the team in recognition of their seamless teamwork and successes.

The Brockhouse Canada Prize for Interdisciplinary Research in Science and Engineering recognizes outstanding Canadian teams of researchers from different disciplines who came together to engage in research drawing on their combined knowledge and skills, and produced a record of excellent achievements in the natural sciences and engineering in the last six years.
