Thomas Speak, a current postdoc in Ilsa Cook's group, is giving an invited talk about his previous research. Thomas has worked with PTR-MS before and done chemical kinetics.

Thomas is a research associate at the University of Sheffield working on the MaCE (Mechanisms and Characterisation of Explosions) project evaluating the importance of chemistry within afterburning events on the near field properties post detonation. His previous work as a research fellow and PhD student involved: -ab initio calculations and master equation simulations, -developing a high pressure instrument for measuring OH and, HO2 -using conventional LP PLP-LIF and simulation chambers to study kinetics.
