Perrin Lab Group: Featured in Angewandte Chemie

Congratulations to the Perrin Lab group!

In collaboration with medical oncologists and radiochemists at the BC Cancer Agency, the Perrin Lab's most recent paper,"An Organotrifluoroborate for BroadlyApplicable One-Step 18F-Labeling by Zhibo Liu et al., has been featured in Angewandte Chemie International Edition. According to their Editor, it is being described as “hot paper” status and was chosen to be featured on the inside cover of the latest issue.

Abstract

The poor reactivity of aqueous fluoride ions has long been a challenge to 18F labeling. In their Communication (DOI: 10.1002/anie.201406258), D. M. Perrin et al. present trifluoroborate–peptide conjugates that are labeled by isotopic exchange in water within 15 minutes to provide 18F tracers at high specific activity. Time-consuming HPLC can be avoided. Several bioactive ligands enable PET imaging of in vivo targets.
