It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Keng Chou, Professor in the UBC Department of Chemistry. Dr. Chou joined the department in 2004 and remained a valued and integral member of our academic community.
His research spanned super-resolution optical microscopy, surface properties of water and ice nucleation, petroleum surface chemistry, and machine learning for chemical analysis, earning him international recognition. His work encompassed interfacial and surface chemistry, as well as physical and analytical chemistry.
Through his research, teaching, and mentorship, Dr. Chou made a lasting impact on colleagues and students alike. Dr. Chou will be deeply missed.
